Some medical conditions are serious enough to require us to admit you to the hospital to perform the necessary oral surgery.  In preparation for this you will be required to have a physical examination within seven days of the proposed surgery.  This examination should be performed by your regular physician.   If your physician is not on staff at Methodist Hospital, we still want his current assessment of your medical health, but we will arrange for a general practitioner or appropriate specialist to manage your care while you are hospitalized.  The hospital will contact you when your bed and room are ready.  You should arrive at the hospital at the time they recommend.
